Your entire donation to the SPA’s Pet Food Money Bank fundraiser applies to the annual cost of feeding our resident animals. Through June 30, up to a total of US$3,500, each donation will be matched by an anonymous donation to SPA Dogs to DC, which has the double benefit of creating space at the SPA to save more dogs.
When a cat or dog is adopted from the SPA, we interview potential adopters and then introduce them to available animals. Before adopters leave the SPA with their new pet, we ask the adopters to let us know if there are any problems. A few days later, we always call to check with the new owner to make sure things are going well.
John, Paul, Georgina, and Ringo are at the SPA, waiting for their forever homes. About 2-1/2 months old, their personalities are starting to take shape.
That dang coronavirus did not go away after 15 or even 30 days as they said it would. Now there is the 15-pound quarantine thing, where people staying at home gain 15 pounds. It looks like the virus is also responsible for an explosion of kittens and puppies.

My heart goes out to Soleil. She is a gentle, sweet, beautiful girl. Now that she is safe at the SPA, she wags her tail, softly puts her paw in your hand, and then switches paws so each can be massaged.
For more than a year, COVID-19 closed most of the sterilization blitzes in San Miguel de Allende. And guess what? San Miguel, as I am sure is the same for most other communities, is experiencing an explosion of homeless and unwanted kittens and puppies.
