Deadline for editorial content, letters to the editor and Qué Pasa listings: Wednesday, 12pm, 10 days before publication

Deadline for display ads and classified ads: Thursday, 4pm, 10 days before publication

 

All editorial submissions must be sent translated and as spell-checked e-mail attachments in Microsoft Word. Photos must be sent as email attachments in JPG, 300 DPIs. Submissions arriving after deadline will not be accepted.

The information printed in Atención and QP is the responsibility of the sender, and is only grammatically checked and copy edited by Atención staff. The validity of an event or cancellation is the responsibility of the event organizers, not Atención. 

No part of Atención may be printed without written permission from the Editor.

 

ABOUT US

Atención San Miguel is the largest social enterprise of the non-profit organization La Biblioteca Pública de San Miguel de Allende. The newspaper contributes funds for La Biblioteca programs in education and cultural development for the children of San Miguel de Allende, in Guanajuato, Mexico.

 

OUR HISTORY

The only bilingual weekly in San Miguel de Allende, Atención was founded in 1975 as an information sheet for the foreign community of San Miguel de Allende.

Over the years, it has evolved to become the only local print medium produced by and for the people of San Miguel. Atención San Miguel and its guide of what to do and where to go, Qué Pasa, provide the most extensive coverage of local news, cultural events and activities for the community of this vibrant city, listed as a World Heritage Site.

Initially published by volunteers of La Biblioteca, over the years it has become the largest social enterprise of this non-government organization, and the newspaper contributes to the library by generating funds for its educational and cultural programs for the children and youth of San Miguel. Because of its journalism and social character, Atención has become one of the most prestigious media operating at the local level.
