As you might gather by the name of this restaurant, it’s a place for chilango food. And chilango refers to anything from Mexico City. It has been here for approximately five months and the reason the owners decided to open in San Miguel is that there is no other place in the city that has real garnachas chilangas (traditional fried food) the way chilangos eat them. The menu has a variety of huaraches—oblong corn patties piled with good savory stuff. For example, they offer simple huaraches, but you can also have them with eggs, cheese, vegetarian, with sausage, chicken breast, beef, arrachera, or ribs. They also have delicious bean gorditas, with chicharrón or with cheese. These were my favorites, but all of them are good enough to lick your plate clean. You should not miss the tacos with beef or chicken, sausage or arrachera.
