The Perfect Day of Ros, Co-founder of Via Orgánica

My day starts at 7am. I think it is important to do some activity to get going and regain energy, and I do that with Yoga and two glasses of water every day. I also like to go for walks in the mornings, I regularly go to the Charco del Ingenio, to Parque Juárez or all the way up El Chorro. Most of the time I have breakfast at Casa Angelitos. If I am not there, I might be at Raíces (Carretera a Dolores) which has a typical Mexican meal with very natural ingredients. My favorite is an egg sandwich with northern style chorizo that I usually accompany with guava water with ginger. Another option could be Rústica (Salida a Celaya) where I could have a beef sandwich made with free-range meat, some cappuccino or hibiscus water.

If I want to have coffee, I go to Café Lavanda (Hernandez Macias, Centro) because it is the best, to my liking. For lunch, one of my most frequent places is Mama Mía Campestre or NAAKARY (road to Jalpa km 4.2) which has a 100% organic vineyard with delicious lunches or dinners by reservation. I also really enjoy looking for places by the road and trying them—you never know where they sell the best things.

For example, I found a carnitas stand right on the corner of the highway to Jalpa with the SMA-Qro highway. I like to go out to the country regularly, that is why I like Nirvana, its food and its service (El Cortijo, SMA). In the evening what I’m looking for is to have a drink, and for that I prefer the terraces. Among my favorites are the Rosewood, Antonia Bistro, and the Pueblo Viejo Terrace. If you come to San Miguel you must soak up its art because the city is full of very good artists. If I were to recommend some to you, I would say visit Gustavo Gomez in Calzada de la Luz with the best stained glass windows. Ó Hermes at La Casa de Mojigangas (San Francisco) where you can find unique, valuable, and artful items.
