Perfect Day Of Debra Broussard President of the Public Library

Perfect Day Of Debra Broussard President of the Public Library

My perfect day starts when I wake up early, around 5:30 to 6 in the morning. I prefer to have coffee at home, and if there is something I like a lot about Mexico, it is that their coffee is delicious. Café Catedral (Canal 88) is the place where I buy my coffee from Oaxaca or Chiapas with a French grind. I usually read a good used book bought at Tesoros, the store at la Biblioteca—the Public Library (25 Insurgentes). There you can come across some great recent finds like: “Berlin Diary: Diary of a war correspondent” published in 1941; or the poetry of Octavio Paz.

I also like to visit Modernista (Pila Seca 7A). It is a very appealing store because they have a good eye for all kinds of objects from around the world. I recently had to buy some gifts for the graduates and in my search I came across Casa Katalina (Hospice 37). This is a jewelry store with beautiful items. In the afternoons I like to go to Cine Bacco where they usually show very interesting movies. After the film, I go for a pizza fresh from the oven at Bacco Restaurant in the courtyard of the Sautto hotel (Hernández Macías 59). My favorite pizza is Margarita. That is usually my perfect day in San Miguel de Allende.
