11th International José Alfredo Jiménez Festival will be Virtual

The 11th edition of the International José Alfredo Jiménez Festival will be digital, for the first time in its history. The festival will be available Nov. 20-23, honoring the “Son of the People” on the 47th anniversary of his death.

The digital experience will feature virtual tours to the emblematic places of Dolores Hidalgo such as the José Alfredo Jiménez house museum, the bicentennial museum, the wine museum, the Hidalgo museum, the Dolores Hidalgo parish and the historic city center.

The Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, Juan José Álvarez Brunel, pointed out that “digitization will go hand in hand with internationalization; with the possibility of demonstrating that great stories come alive in Guanajuato and those stories have united us.”

The festival will feature capsules where, in addition to showing the representations of José Alfredo’s artistic talent, themes such as gastronomy, the municipality’s wine sector, the state’s cultural talent, the traditional canteen tour, and the serenade to José Alfredo from his mausoleum will be visible.

The invitation to the digital festival is addressed to all those who have sung “The songs of the Dolorense singer-songwriter at the top of their lungs, thus paying homage to a great musician,” said José Alfredo Jiménez Gálvez, son of José Alfredo Jiménez, at a press conference.
