Night of Romance and Pop Opera

Night of Romance and Pop Opera

By Iirneo Muñoz

More than a concert, it is a unique experience that mixes the romanticism of some of the melodies of arias known from the opera, romantic songs fused with Belcanto, and current music.

The soprano Gabriela Perales and the tenor Cesar Valderrama will meet to combine classical music and popular music, in a trend better known as “crossover,” which began in the 80s and has gained relevance in recent years with artists like Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman with their famous duet “Time to Say Goodbye;” the young group Il Volo and the British group Il Divo; Noel Schajris, a member of the group Sin Bandera; and the outstanding Mexican tenor, Arturo Chacón.

Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy a romantic evening that will transport you to other unforgettable times and moments, accompanied by themes that will surely be familiar to you.

Valderrama and Perales have prepared an exquisite repertoire where we will listen to songs such as “O Sole Mio,” “Cinema Paradiso” by Ennio Morricone, “The Prayer,” “Madame Butterfly,” “Adagio” by Albinoni, “Dust in the Wind,” and “Canto de la Terra,” among other great themes!

Valderrama, a young tenor better known as the voice of San Miguel de Allende, is an interpreter of various musical genres such as opera, opera-pop, ranchera, and ballads. His career began in 2015, singing in a recital of the San Miguel Institute choir, and with his voice, he has managed to make his audience fall in love ever since. Valderrama has sung on various stages within Mexico and the United States.

Perales is originally from Saltillo, Coahuila, with 18 years living in this magical town, delighting us with her warm and light voice in numerous concerts and recitals in various forums and cultural, private, governmental, profit-making, and other non-profit organizations. She is an interpreter of various musical genres ranging from classical, jazz, pop ballads, and Mexican music, who has participated in different festivals and concerts within the country.

This incredible “crossover” concert, or better known as pop-opera, will take place this Thursday, August 26, at 6pm at the Santa Ana Theater located at calle Reloj 50A, Centro, with a cost of 350 pesos. Tickets can be purchased at www.teatrosantaana.org or at the box office. Do not miss it!
