Live Watercolor Collage Workshop!

Live Watercolor Collage Workshop!

By Elsmarie Norby

Join award-winning mixed media artist and author, Cathy Taylor, for a super-fun live workshop for all levels. We are privileged to have Taylor living here in San Miguel de Allende and offering her talents to benefit Ojala Niños, an integrated learning program for children in rural Mexico to inspire creativity, critical thinking, skills, and self-confidence. More information is available on our website www.ojala-niños.com. For over 12 years this non-profit program has offered daily classes in arts, literacy, music, health, environment, and technology skills. We will soon reopen with a new, full schedule. We welcome volunteers for a variety of activities to support and enhance our program. If you are interested in joining us, contact Betty Lopez at admin@ojala-ninos.org.

Your workshop experience in Cathy’s words:

“The art of collage offers enormous creative potential…easy and non-intimidating for the beginner; expansive and challenging for the advanced artist. You’ll begin by creating masterful messes with watercolorsplash, drip, and doodle. Put aside to dry. Then, have a fun time of ripping, tearing, cutting, and gluing to create a one-of-a-kind watercolor collage. No fear, no mistakes. I will present lots of examples of finished collages to help jump-start your creative energy. Bring a spirit open to endless possibilities. This is your time to play and create and amaze yourself!”

Cathy Taylor is a Signature member of the International Society of Experimental Artists and the National Collage Society. She wrote the popular book “Pigments of Your Imagination, creating with alcohol inks.”

This will be a safe space for us to celebrate our reconnections and the freedom to be creative!
