Nanzza Garcia, Partner at Turisma and Event Planner

The first thing I do when I wake up is to drink a cup of lemon ginger tea to get my day going, then I go for a walk. I live in Atascadero, so I regularly walk through Charco del Ingenio, both to relax and reflect. I enjoy going to Centro for breakfast, and I regularly go to Inside Café. It’s one of my favorite places because they have vegetarian options and they fit in more with my current lifestyle. What I recommend most at Inside Café is the chai tea with almond milk. This is why it’s my favorite place. Sometimes I go out to do some exercise and connect with nature.

My afternoons are spent checking pending events, video calls with clients or colleagues, and/or I organizing everything for upcoming events. My plan is to create a community with my fellow event planners. We can boost local consumption by holding many events, all following the current community health guidelines. My work requires that I visit different venues, restaurants, and gardens. These places never cease to amaze me. San Miguel de Allende has a lot of magic and a peculiar charm not only because of its beautiful architecture, but also because of its people. With the pandemic I have learned to enjoy sitting in front of the Parroquia and seeing it from a different perspective. I am a big fan of sunsets and even more so of those we have in this beautiful city.

Before dinner I like to go out to take pictures of the streets in Centro, to simply get lost and get to know new places. I really enjoy Selina’s terrace because it has an incredible 360 degree view of the entire city and its food is unique. What I recommend is the delicious roasted beet salad. Another place I really like is Black Smith because the bartender not only offers a menu, but she can also recommend something according to whatever craving you might have on any particular day. Most of all, she can prepare a cocktail exactly to your liking.
