Dear Editor:
A year ago we visited San Miguel de Allende and saw a city we wanted to call home. We fell in love with the restaurants, the parks, the shops, the bakeries, but mostly the people and La Biblioteca. We made arrangements for an apartment for three months starting in January 2021 to see how living long term would be in San Miguel. Then COVID struck and being in Canada, we have been on lockdown off and on since. We lost the apartment and now found out the landlord will be selling next year, so the hunt begins again.
Each day as I watch the snow get deeper and the temperature drop lower I think about San Miguel and wonder if we will ever get to see it again, and then on Friday of every week I get my online copy of Atención and Qué Pasa and my day is brighter. I get to read about places we have been, things we knew, and people we met and become excited once more about winter of 2022 when we can return again and begin to make San Miguel our winter home—all thanks to you and your great staff who work so hard to give us older expats news and a place to call home.
Thanks,
Ron Hajes
