Welcome Back to Travel

Welcome Back to Travel

What a year 2020 has been!

With a COVID-19 vaccine expected to be widely rolled out in 2021, multitudes of people who have been quarantined, locked down, or otherwise stuck at home will be aching to travel again. It is hardly the end of the story, but a positive note to end 2020 with and usher in the New Year.

2021 is shaping up to be a banner year for international travel, and Perfect Journeys is ready to welcome travelers and give them the post-COVID travel experience of a lifetime.

“Kenya’s Great Migration Safari and Victoria Falls,” an 11-day private small-group trip from Perfect Journeys, could be just what’s needed for anyone longing to get out of the house, get out of the country, and get into an unforgettable adventure.

The safari tour will take place Sept. 15-25, 2021, and Judy and Jim Newell will accompany the group, which will have a maximum of 12 guests.

Research indicates travelers are looking to reconnect with nature and the great outdoors. With its vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope and the largest elephants in Africa, not to mention the extraordinary big cat population and over 450 species of birds, Kenya offers nature lovers a rich buffet of enticing experiences.

The tour starts with two nights in Nairobi, followed by safaris in the Masai Mara National Park, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli National Park, then three days in Victoria Falls, followed by a five day optional extension in Cape Town, South Africa.

The cost for the 11-day “Kenya’s Great Migration Safari and Victoria Falls” tour is US$5,226 per person sharing, and the single supplement is US$991. The price is based on 12 persons traveling and is subject to change if this number changes.

Intra-Africa airfare is from US$1,287 per person (Nairobi/Livingstone (Victoria Falls), Livingstone/Johannesburg, or Cape Town). Deposits must be made prior to Feb. 28.

Wherever you want to travel, Judy Newell is committed to ensuring a safe, secure, and sustainable tourism future. Please call or email her with any questions and for full itineraries.

Anticipating good things ahead is a balm for the spirit, and I hope that the New Year brings many wonderful blessings.

New on Pacific Northwest rivers

UnCruise Adventures’ newly renamed week-long “Rivers of Adventure and Wine” itinerary operates a roundtrip from Portland, Oregon, between August and October 2021. Also renamed is the ship operating that itinerary, the 86-passenger Wilderness Legacy. The new name is designed to better reflect the ship’s adventures, including hiking, kayaking, rafting, paddling, and skiff activities.

Another small-ship oceangoing line sailing on the Columbia and Snake rivers with several vessels is Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic.
