Daniel Hernández Rangel, founder of the Food Bank told me about his day:
My perfect day starts with some exercise as soon as I wake up. Most often I like to hang out with the cycling club called Echelon (which means line training), of which I’m the founder. We try to ride at least 40 km, traveling through the Presa, the junction of Celaya and Guanajuato through Cieneguita, sometimes to Dolores or Joya de la Barreta. After a long bike ride, we like to have breakfast at Vergel Bistro, Luna de Queso, or Compita.
After that, since I am in charge of the Food Bank, I have to manage the donations of vegetables and dairy products as well as deliver them. Afterwards I go to do sports or I go out with my family; either to el sabino (A giant, ancient tree near the Cañada de la Virgen), or to the Presa de San Marcos, Atotonilco, Cruz del Palmar, San Luis Rey, or Rancho Viejo.
I like to go to the market to eat because I can find everything there: smoothies, vegetables, garnachas (typical fried foods), tlacoyos (grilled corn patties). But I also like to visit other places like Jacques because they offer vegan food, as does Fast and Wize.
I entertain myself spending time at Fábrica la Aurora because you can find all kinds of art: paintings, buildable figures, sculptures, and other unique objects. I recommend following a healthy lifestyle, there are no excuses for not doing sports or eating healthy. It does not matter if the sporting facilities are closed due to contingency; there is a lot of space in nature and in your house.
