XXVI International Jazz and Blues Festival 2020

The International Jazz and Blues Festival of San Miguel de Allende will celebrate its XXVI edition this coming Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15 at the Terrace of the Rancho Los Labradores Hotel, just minutes from downtown, from 12-4pm.

 

Acclaimed Tap Dancer Sarah Reich will perform, (Performer, Choreographer, Instructor) has emerged as one of the new leaders in the “Art Form of Tap Dance”. At the young age of 15, this Los Angeles native was featured in “Dance Spirit Magazine’s” article, “20 Hot Tappers Under 20” and was named one of the “25 To Watch” in the 2009 “Dance Magazine” article. Ever since, Sarah has been sought after to perform, choreograph, and teach in over 40 countries. Sarah is currently on tour with Scott Bradlee’s “Postmodern Jukebox” as the featured tap dancer. Their videos have garnered millions of views on YouTube, all receiving rave reviews.

 

Previously she was seen on Season 11 of FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance” with “Chloe Arnold’s Syncopated Ladies” and Season 8 with “Jason Samuels Smith’s, A.C.G.I”.

 

For eight years, Sarah has worked alongside her mentor and tap legend, Harold Cromer teaching at numerous tap festivals and events. Previously she extensively trained with Cyd Glover, Paul & Arlene Kennedy and Becky Twitchell studying technique, performance, musicality and improvisation, making Sarah one of the most well-rounded dancers in the business. Sarah is developing new, and exciting works with her de ella company de ella Tap Music Productions, including her de ella debut Tap Jazz Album titled New Change. This album is originally produced, composed from percussive tap rhythms, and performed by a great selection of musicians to create a unique sound.

The program that will be presented will be a tribute to the music of Soul and Motown style: Steve Wonder, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, among others.

 

Also participating in this edition of the Festival “San Miguel Blues Collective”, a group formed by musicians from different blues bands from San Miguel, among which we can mention is the Canadian singer and harmonica player Dave Bingham, the singer and guitarist “Chuy”, the guitarist Julián Arcos, among others. They will perform songs from the great blues such as Muddy Waters, John Lee Hoker, BB King, as well as original compositions.
