La Posadita

La Posadita

La Posadita is a family restaurant with traditional Mexican food. It opened its doors 16 years ago with the idea of creating a place for typical snacks in Centro. Here you can try a great variety of dishes from different states of Mexico with authentic regional recipes. The restaurant is so committed to bringing true Mexican cuisine that they travel to the place of origin to recreate the original, homemade recipes. This effort pays off in that each one of their dishes is truly exceptional. They have a pozole that follows a recipe from the state of Guerrero, in which the beans are shelled by hand. The cuisine is one hundred percent artisanal. Some of the featured dishes are Cochinita Pibil, lime soup, red pozole, green pozole, stuffed chiles, chamorro based on a recipe from Michoacán, arrachera, rib eye steak, and a great variety of salads. On the top floor you will find a wine cellar, with seventy percent of the wines coming from Mexico. and a spectacular view. Seventy percent of their wines are from Mexico.

Each dish features its origin and tradition, and they are based on recipes of the grandmother or aunt whose preparation of the dish everyone loved. Another interesting detail is that the tortillas are home made, and are prepared by a lady who takes the corn home and makes them from scratch. This makes for some of the tastiest tortillas in the area. This is the place where the ordinary becomes extraordinary from the moment you enter, including the music which covers may genres and comes from different regions of Mexico. The service is excellent as well and they even have the state’s best waiter. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is cozy. Perhaps the best part is the spectacular view overlooking the Parroquia which you can enjoy as you have some wine or cocktail and a meal.
