Despite rain and in the midst of the pandemic, Mama Mu restaurant reopened

Last Friday, September 4, 2019, in the midst of a rain that did not stop the event,  Mama Mu restaurant inaugurated its new branch located in the Manuel Zavala bypass  119.

 

The reopening was attended by the Secretary of Tourism of the state of Guanajuato Juan José Álvarez Brunel, as well as family and friends of the Muñoz brothers, owners of the restaurant.

 

The secretary addressed a few words to the Muñoz brothers, explained the importance of supporting business entrepreneurship in the state of Guanajuato, Brunel pointed out that, due to the health measures in Guanajuato, the state has been able to position itself as one of the safest on hygiene issues.

 

After Brunel’s speech, both, the owners, and the secretary cut the traditional ribbon, inaugurating the restaurant, then padre Fernando blessed the property and began the tasting of dishes by chef Luis Muñoz.

 

Mama mu is a restaurant specialized in cuts of meat, Julio Muñoz one of the owners explains; “Our intention is to publicize our Mexican cuisine, referring to the north, we tried to take the concept of roasted meat”

 

Inside Mama mu typical BBQ dishes are prepared as explained by Muñoz, such as; Marrow with esquite, a pulled beef, tortilla soup, dry noodles as well as all types of cuts.

 

The name Mama mu, as Julio explains, comes from one of the French comics that his daughters read where a cow (the mother) is called Mama mu, Julio then adopted the name for his restaurant.

 

For the Muñoz brothers, the pandemic meant an opportunity, “you renew yourself or you die, at first we panicked because we didn’t know what it was,” said Julio.

 

Julio Muñoz mentioned that he received support from the Guanajuato Fund program, with that he managed to pay for the costs of changing headquarters.

 

In the face of the pandemic, Julio affirms that the health measures of Mama mu were already implemented, the restaurant has the distinctive H, granted by the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Health, disinfectant mats, antibacterial gel, as well as taking mandatory temperature and a diner registration log.

 

Mama mu is open from Monday to Sunday from 1 pm to 7:30 pm.
