Last Monday, the mayor of San Miguel de Alende, Luis Alberto Villareal, announced the investment for the future UNAM campus in San Miguel.
According to Villareal, the investment for the first stage of construction will be more than 45 million pesos, said investment will be a joint collaboration between federal, state and municipal authorities.
It is expected that in mid-September the work will begin.
With the construction of the campus, UNAM will be able to offer 8 career choices to approximately 4 thousand students.
Last year, the municipal government presented the campus project to municipal and state authorities, the proposal was approved and the first stage of construction was expected to be ready in August of this year.
The construction design will respect the architecture of San Miguel de Allende, in addition to having a modern and inclusive infrastructure.
There will be 4.5 hectares for the construction of the building, it will be located at the exit to Querétaro, just before the administrative building.
The UNAM will arrange the academic staff of the institution, as well as the planning of the careers according to the San Miguel population.
