500 Facades, 13 Areas, and 41 Water Tanks

Public Works has completed a project benefitting 861 families by painting 42,809 square meters of facades, and repairing almost 9,000 square meters of walls. Public Works not only focuses on residential buildings but the walls and seating in the Jardín Principal as well. The project includes La Parroquia de la Luz.

 

Director of Public Works and Infrastructure Antonio Soria says that the idea is for people to live and grow in a dignified environment. As of the end of 2020 the improvement projects covered 13 areas, with the repair of 152 properties in the Guadalupe neighborhood, some adjacent to the Cachinches stream; 28 properties in Colonia Aurora; 11 in Colonia Providencia; 280 in San Antonio; and 61 in San Rafael.

 

With this program facades (and all exterior walls) were repaired and painted, and in some cases all four walls were attended to. The paint colors correspond to the city’s regulatory palette. 

 

At the beginning of the year residents of Las Cañas community received water tanks as part of the Housing Improvement program. The government invested a total of 232,069.02 pesos At the water tank delivery event Regina Diosdado—representing the neighbors—said, “Thank you, Mayor. The water tanks are going to be very useful for storing water in our house. I think that each of these families who came to receive a tank needed it. We hope to continue receiving support.”
