Municipal Government Issues Amended Health Protocols for Commercial Operations

Due to the decrease of Covid-19 cases in San Miguel de Allende, the municipal government has established new protocols for economic reactivation, within the state of Guanajuato. San Miguel de Allende, with 59 current cases, ranks as one of the municipalities with the lowest number of active cases.

The new protocols establish that starting Oct. 13, restaurants will be allowed to extend their service hours until 11 p.m., and will have to be vacated and closed by midnight. They also  require compliance with sanitary measures in the establishments, including hand washing, the use of antibacterial gel, and the use of facemasks when entering and leaving the establishments.

Also, hotels and restaurants that have the “Health First” certificate will be allowed up to 75 percent of their capacity. Beginning Oct. 15, social events, weddings and conventions can be held until midnight.

Likewise, in order for the tourist tram and balloon rides to reactivate, operators must first obtain “Health First” and “Guanajuato Sano” certificates. These activities will require a registration log and will be allowed 50 percent capacity, with mandatory use of facemasks during the trip for both operators and users.

Moreover, tram and the balloon ride staff must all be certified in “All about the prevention of Covid-19” and “Recommendations against Covid-19 for the safe return to work” issued through the IMSS portal, climss.imss.gob.mx.
