This Tuesday, July 7, Jair Bolsonaro, president of Brazil declared that he tested positive for Covid-19 and began treatment with hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin. He was reported to have come for the study after experiencing fatigue and fever last Sunday. All this during a television interview held at the official residence in Brasilia.

 

Bolsonaros’ opinion on the social distancing measures has been controversial as he has declared that he considers the coronavirus a “little flu”. In this interview, he also stressed that he suspected he was infected because he is in constant contact with people.

 

The president also said that at that time he felt “perfectly well” but that he would follow the recommendations of his doctors so he will continue working through video conferences.
