Tasting Room is a new place on Tenerías 2 that has it all. To begin, as soon as you enter you feel a different vibe to the rest of the places in the area. It’s a very calming place, full of peace and where you can do more than just wine tasting. You can also learn about the art of photography, of leather bags made entirely by hand, and about Uzbekistan textiles–hand-woven silk fabrics; a millennial tradition of the region. You need to make a reservation to partake of any tastings, because it is done in small groups. They have a unique winery to ferment their wine in Georgia country-style clay pots where the fermenting is done with the skin of the same grape. Their specialty is Orange Wine. This is a white wine, but it is made as if it were a red wine; leaving the grape skins on and keeping it in a clay pot underground for between 7 and 9 months. This allows the white wine to take on different notes. Not everything here is wine; they also offer the best mezcal Penca y Piedra, an artisan mezcal which won a prize in the world competition in Brussels. They also make the best craft beers. During your tasting you will be able to get to know each one of the artisanal drinks that I mentioned. Not only that, they also put out a few appetizers on the table so that you can enjoy these throughout the session.
