*The FGEG informs that the minor MATTHEW SANTIAGO “N” has been located, is safe and sound and with his family.

 

– *The use of technological tools, the specialized work of experts in the field allowed us to discover that the information provided was false. The baby reported missing in Celaya on Sunday, May 30 was never missing*.

 

*Celaya, Gto. May 31, 2021*.- On May 30, 2021, in the agencies of the Public Ministry an investigation file was initiated for the disappearance of Matthew Santiago “N”, 10 days old; in this as in all cases, from the very moment of the report of the disappearance, the Investigation File was immediately initiated, developing an investigation plan and the appropriate procedures according to the circumstances of the case.

 

Thus, the search for the minor and the investigation of the facts began in accordance with the Law and the protocols for missing persons. The Agent of the Specialized Unit for the Investigation of Missing Persons, was able to establish that *FABIOLA “N “*, the complainant, made false statements about the reported event; therefore it is important to point out the following:

 

The complainant stated that the baby had been kidnapped by armed men when they were traveling in a public service vehicle on the Celaya – Queretaro highway, which is false.

 

*The child was never stolen and his name is not Matthew Santiago “N “*.

 

The photograph of the baby provided by Fabiola “N” to this authority is of the son of another person and it is reiterated that his name is not Matthew Santiago “N”.

 

*The baby in the photograph was never missing and even less in danger, the child is with his family safe and sound, specifying that there is no relationship with the complainant. The baby is the son of a former co-worker of Fabiola “N”, therefore, it was clarified in the investigation that Fabiola “N” was never pregnant and therefore, she did not have a child that she had said had been stolen*.

 

The State Attorney General’s Office will carry out the corresponding actions regarding the case, which will be reported as soon as it is feasible to do so.
