San Miguel de Allende’s Association of Event Organizers and Venues has been working on an effort to position the city at a national and international tourism level for the past 10 years. These efforts have earned them acknowledgement and recognition from the state of Guanajuato’s Department of Tourism (SECTUR). The Association has accomplished the following: 

• It has more than 300 wedding providers.

• San Miguel de Allende is one of the most visited romantic destinations.

A few days ago, the Association celebrated its 10th anniversary. One prominent member present was Juan José Álvarez Brunel, Guanajuato’s Secretary of Tourism. Its members are wedding planning and business event experts specializing in all kinds of social events, festivals, exhibitions, conferences, and conventions. Álvarez Brunel congratulated the event experts for getting involved in the activities, trainings and presentations, making San Miguel de Allende a memorable destination.

Beatriz Sucar, president of the association, mentioned that the reactivation of romance tourism is of utmost importance. She and her team intend to work day to day to attract new clients, promoting not only San Miguel de Allende, but the chain of venues offered by the association. 

“There is a commitment with the state, municipality, and association to work hand in hand implementing the corresponding health protocols and guidelines, with the principal purpose of guarding the safety and health of all, and continuing to provide a responsible service, characteristic of this sector,” stated Beatriz Sucar.
